Burton Latimer . She had at least three siblings; an older sister, Frances, born 17 70, and tw o younger brothers, William, born 1775 and George born 177 8. In November 1802, banns of her forthcoming marriage to George Ship ley were published at Burton Latimer by Rev. S. Barwick and they mar ried in December 1802 at Isham, Nr. Burton Latimer. Between 180 3 - 1813 they had six children -William, Frances, Mary Ann, Jane, Ge orge and Fanny. Sadly, the first two died at birth; the others were al l baptised at Burton Latimer. Mary Ann died in 1818 aged 11. By 183 7 (according to a petition for clemency re. her son George) she wa s a widow. The 1841 census for Northants shows an Ann Shipley, a fema le servant, aged 68. The 1851 census for Northants shows an Ann Ship ley, widow aged 78 - a pauper. Ann died on January 22nd 1868 at Bur ton Latimer, aged 95. She was buried on 29th January at St Mary's P arish Church In the petitions for clemency Anne was always commende d as being highly respectable and of good character. In the last, mad e in 1847 and forwarded by D. Barclay of Burton Latimer Rectory, High am Ferrers to Lord Spencer with a request to make it known to the Sec retary of state (?
