Cecil Edgar was born to George Deacon Shipley and Emma on 8th Januar y 1865 at Alvaston, Shardlow, Derbyshire. According to the 1871 cens us, then aged 6, he lived with his aunts Jane and Fanny at Burton La timer, Northamptonshire. According to information from John Shipley ( qv) he became a minister, leaving Bristol Baptist College in 1892. H e married Florence Gange and between 1894 and 1905 they had three chi ldren. His wife, Florence, died in 1948 and Cecil on 25th March 1954 . Kathleen Carr (daughter of Gertrude Annie Shipley and Horace Carr ) confirms he was a minister, as was his father-in-law , Edwin Gorsuc h Gange
