General:

Cecil Gange Shipley was born to Cecil Edgar Shipley and Florence in 19 05. A letter sent to John Shipley (qv) says that his branch of th e family moved to Scotland in 1915, when he was 10, and remained ther e until 1931. Cecil married twice; firstly to Pauline Victoria Port way in 1939 (who died in 1968) and then to Valerie Cecile Bringwood i n 1972. There were no children. At some point he became an Anglican m inister and practised in Bristol. His retirement was spent at "The Hom es" Langford, Bristol, BS18. He died when he was 77 in 1982. Kathlee n Carr says he became canon of Wells Cathedral.
