Marion was born to George Deacon Shipley and Emma. Information from J ohn Shipley states Marion's D.O.B. = 18th December 1864 and that she d ied aged 12. Letter from Rev. Preb. Cecil Gange Shipley says she die d aged 17. Marion's date of birth and her brother Sidney's christenin g appear to be the same, and therefore unlikely! More likely KS is c orrect with a dob of 1861, rather than the John Shipley date of 18/12/ 1864. My guess is both children were christened together on that date . Marion is buried in the old charchyard at Swanage - KS visited h er grave in 2005.
