It appears Frank took over Nind Mill on his father's death. It was Fr ank who closed the mill (see 'The History of Kingswood' in RS 'Millman ' folder) From: Gloucestershire Society for Industrial Archaeolog y Journal for 2004 Howard & Powell also owned Millman, Hunt and Co . Ltd which at the end of the 19th century was a very large woollen cl oth manufacturer operating at Nind Mills at Kingswood near Wotton-unde r-Edge. Millman, Hunt and Co stopped making cloth at the beginning o f the 20th century and for some years they operated as a shoddy mill u ntil 1919 when the business was acquired by Howard & Powell. Millman , Hunt and Co., which came to be based at Wallbridge, handled mainly t he worsted side of the business. Howard & Powell also had a half shar e in a company called Eccles & Watson who were based in Huddersfield . They did much of the weaving and the processing of the worsted clot h for Millman, Hunt and Co who did not have their own manufacturing fa cilities.Marriage Notes (Jane Simpson)
